WHEN DPS12 JUST COME OUT.THEN I GET ONE.IS VERY VERY ESAY OF USE.I ALMOST NOT NEED READ MANUEL.SOUND IS GREAT.I USE DAT BACK UP DATE.USE SYSJET 1.5G FOR HARDDISK.BUT SOME TIME CAN NOT BOOT IT UP.ALSO NO REALTIME MARK EDIT POINT.ANYWAY THE SOUND,EASY OF USE.NICE EQ ETC IS GOOD.SO I PERFER BEGINNER USE.

I found this to be a very good design, with plenty of features, which turned out to be poorly engineered and prone to data loss.

The disturbing thing was Akai's lack of concern or response when we contacted them for advice. After following advice from Akai on upgrades and equipment changes (including purchasing a hard drive specified by them) we are still experiencing total failure while recording. This is definitely an appealing product, but I would never recommend it to a friend, as it has caused me gray hairs, heartbreak, and months of recording turned magically to garbled noise (the 'unintentional autechre'). Go with Roland, they seem to know what they're doing...
