Love my 808 MKII. I use it regularly between a G4 Powerbook and G4 iBook and it works every time. I often use it through a firewire hub with 4 FW hard drives and the FW ipod. Once you have it's drivers installed, just plug it in and the Mac reconfigures it's audio system fully automatically within a couple seconds and your MKII is live! Love it! I regularly use 6 outputs and 2 inputs without a hitch. Great sound.

Brilliant. Everything works and sounds great. Just make sure that the MOTU has its own Firewire bus...it does not coexist well with other devices (hard drives...Powercore FiWi....etc.), a fact I wish MOTU had been more forthcoming about.
