Great all around mixer & versatile to boot. I use a VLZ Pro to track onto PC and I love the sweet pre-amps. It's a little expensive but like anything else.. you get for what you pay for!

I love this console. I started with it when I began my work as an engineer...I have since moved up to a Tascam DM-24 (see my review there) but the Mackie will be missed. I have a 1402 back home that I use with my keyboards...if you're looking for stereo tracks, the 1642 is a good board too, a friend of mine just got it, I love it. One bad thing about the 1604, the control room and headphone levels are on the same knob, so if you want to check your cue mix in headphones you have no real way of turning down the control room speakers unless you connect them elsewhere...other than that it's a great console...also a bit too expensive.

Exellent little mixer clean sound and truly some of the best mic amps you can get on a mixer in a nd around its league. Very expensive though and not really much incentive to not get a o1v but I still love it.
