it does sound good, but this synth does not stack up to other cheaper synths. yes it is a great technology for synthesizers, yes its interface hw/gui is well laid out. but no, other engines sound better and cost less. buggy code and spikes in cpu (mac&pc) make this a walk on by purchase for me. this synth design will go forward into the future for sure, but I dont belive this is going to be a synth that people will remember. gets a 1 from me because there are still major bugs, and even though some of the other reviews here praise it for its new sound its nothing new sounding to me. besides this technolgy is allot older than people think. its been around for awhile and now it just got picked up and boxed.

The Neuron VS is an amazing software synthesizer with a useful controller (the NUKE). It's the first time in ages that I've bought a synth and been blown away by it's original sounds; when you use the MODELmaker software...this thing is amazing...you can just keep on being as creative as your imagination.

I have a Korg Legacy and don't use the MS20ic that came with it as much as I use the NUKE controller that came with the VS. I love how you can make a sound lose control and have an organic quality that most synths just don't have. The VS is also a great saving over the cost of the keyboard version (though I would still love one of those too!).

I think those "hobbyist" users who think something like the Neuron VS is "nothing new" and who's controller is a "fracking joke", should learn more about the product they are talking about before spouting uninformed garbage in a review. Yes, there have been some problems with the Mac AU version being a little unstable, but I'm sure these will get fixed soon.

The Neuron (keyboard or VS) is an investment and will last long into the future.

I hope the hardware users didnt get as many bugs with there $3000+ keyboard

& as good as it sounds, it really sounds like nothing new,

the software is a rip off price & the dongle / controller is a fracking joke.

A sampler and a modular synth if used right could in my opinion could do the VS sound just fine.

It does sound good, but no way worth the price you pay.

I think that it's a really awsome unbelievably great sounding synth. The way it recreates any sample that you provide it, breaks it down into endless parameters and altering the loads of parameters (real life parameters such as wood metal etc...) makes it the best and most original sounding software & hardware (comes with a Nuke controller) synth that I have ever heard.

A must for any studio!!! It's also very cheap considering that it's hardware version is extremely expensive. But the price you pay is very cheap for the sound you can create.

Saw this at NAMM, looks funky and seems to be a nice piece of software, but I always find that this modellling stuff sounds like crossfaded samples to me - I havent been blown away by what I've heard yet
