Well I have had this Mixer for 4 years and it sounds and looks like it just left the music store. Sparkling sound , quality build ( not a single led has burnt out )very very flexible. I use it for a midi studio and it is more than most need for digital computer work. Overkill is great dont ja think ! The EQs are awsome too by the way

It is not an "underachiever" as stated in another review. I payed 1300 for it 4 years ago and it goes fo 800-1000 used , certain things hold their value for a reason !

I disagree with greyland99, I think this is a great mixer. It's not overpriced, and you are really getting a quality product. Try to find all the same features and quality on a different mixer: 24 channels with 3-band EQ, with variable MID frequency, 6 AUX sends, 4 busses. Sure, you can buy a 32-channel Behringer with 8 busses and 8 AUX sends for just a little bit cheaper than the SR24-4, but have you heard the noise floor on that thing? I returned my Behringer within a week and got the Mackie instead. I've been using it for more that 6 months now, and couldn't be happier. I use it in the studio for recording purposes, and it performs great. Allows a ton of routing possibilities, too. I only wish 6 months ago I hadn't hasitated to shell out a little extra cash for the SR32-4, as I am now out of channels.

Like everything else Mackie its friggin overpriced, wake up folks they aren't that great, they started off good, and now they are just riding the wave. Personally they suck because they are very limited in what they can do live and in studio. As well this company reclassified their own floor noise level and then told the world it was the lowest of any mixer, I say compared to what your own standards you wrote in the first place. Another attempt to pull the wool or consumers eyes, not mine...... If you buy one, I admit your getting a great mixer but hey I'd rather take a vacation than blow my cash on an overpriced underachiever.
