What a poor machine and software-design. Installed the software on my Macbook from the cd and the Focusrite worked but gave a lot of clicks and distortion. After the update it stopped working at all! Wish I'd never sold my good old and reliable Presonus...

Excellent piece of gear. The pres sound pristine w/plenty of headroom; conversion sounds great; has run flawlessly on my desktop AMD comp. running Reaper. The latency can be set low enough to comfortably run plugins in realtime, and the plugs that come w/the Saffire sound very good.

I am using saffire in a decent pc, mean I have no problems with ram and stuff like that so I'm running the saffire with live 6 and it really behaves like a bitch, when I open reason and work with it in slave mode It pops up so f**cking hard that the last time I almost got deaf... this is 4 real... I got the last update from focusrite but it's still the same shit, THEY KNOW IT. BUT THEY DON'T CARE.. this is serious DON'T BUY A SAFFIRE IT'S A PIECE OF CRAP AND AN EXPENSIVE ONE... do a little effort.. and get something better like a motu 828mkII and cut the shitty search for a good interface... I mean how the f**k do they sell shit that hasn't yet been fixed up?? It doesn't makes any sense that if u have payed for something... you can't use it till you fix all their stupid mistakes.. and spend a friggin week trying to find out which is the problem, if you buy saffire you pay for problems ... AGAIN .. DON'T BUY THAT PIECE OF CRAP :(

Great interface, fantastic value for money, great audio quality.

I have learned most people have problems with crappy onboard FW interfaces in their laptops and they blame the interface. My advice: buy a dedicated Firewire card and the Saffire runs without a single glitch!
