I'm producer form the uk and i've had several hits released that i recorded and mixed using the 01V. It's not as nice sounding as a VTC or Neve, but the difference is so small, you wouldn't notice it unless you've got some serious shit-hot monitoring.......i reckon you haven't got the hang of gain structure yet, becuse if you did, you'd see that the 01v can be just as fat as your mackie. oh and by the way, the interanl fx are Pro R3's...which do a really nice chorus, you just have to know how to program it and not rely on the presets......

I use valve desks, pro tools and an 01v, and the record company never ever know which system i used to do a mix's all about talent mate, not gear.

This desk makes my beautiful Moog sound very small and cold, like if you accidentally left your dog outside overnight in a snowstorm. If you have an ear for sound, you won't like it.

It is supposed to be 16 bit but it sounds to me like they left most of those bits in the freezer overnight. Great for 80's cover artists but not for contemporary sounds.

I've got my 01V connected to protools via lightpipe for monitoring. It's worked flawlessly for 2 years. Love how tiny it is. Wish it had wordclock input.

1.The sound is good enough for me. 2.You can turn of the digital sync error message. 3.If you say the faders are 'getting in your way' then you are trying push them in another direction. By doing this of course in the end you are jamming the whole mechanism with the result a dying fader.
