I dont think the O1v sounds cold at all. I have this thing for about 6 months now and am very pleased with it. You just got to learn to actively use the EQ and dynamics. I switched from a Spirit SX mixer to this thing and would never go back. It sounds a bit cleaner maybe but definately not cold. Also it sounds bigger to my ears. It is really easy to use Total recall is great. It saves a lot of time when switching between tracks or when doing remixes etc. Fine mixer would recomend it to anyone.

Marius - No - we aren't rich but it's the difference between professional gear and 'prosumer' gear. The 01V is a prosumer desk and professionals just don't like it. If the desk sounds cold, why try and make it sound warmer? For a professional sound engineer it's better to start with a Mackie or Spirit desk that sounds good.

I agree with you - the O1V is a great desk for those just starting out on a limited budget, but it's not for me.

The first comments viewed here don't really do justice to this mixer. This is a beautiful beautiful mixer for the money. How can people compare it to the 328? are you all rich or somethin...? good quality sound+effects+dynamics. could be warmer...agree but if it so important.then sub mix it and get other effects if you need. I love the sound and love the quality. digital or analog or digital or analog...cold warm cold warm.just make music...:-)

One more thing - Yamaha are getting a bad rep for not fixing bugs between the O1V and the EX5. Both have bugs and they seem to have stopped releasing software updates for them? What's up Yamaha? When I spend my money on Yamaha gear I expect you to support it for more than twelve months, especially when the bugs are your fault!
