This card was my sample ram and multi track dream come true at the time!!WOW!Rebirth, fruity loops,Dream station and cakewalk are what I used to make great use of this card! The ram you can assign to the card is not just 32mb,but half of system ram minus half a meg(256mb system ram,sb live would use 127.5mb ram!)The sound was better and the effects was nice too.I made almost all my CDs and songs with it.The AWE was the begining for me but the lack of ram for more samples was red hot angering! Now for the cons on this card...The AWE32 did not have instability problem like the SB live! Why?It used its own ram for sample caching and a more mature driver base. The SB live was prone to alot of crashes in the system due to the use of system ram for sample caching, and in windows, that has always been a issue even now with XP pro!!!I got rid of my card after the system crashed and rebooted with a driver error in the log.I was the card as I was using vienna sound font studio and testing different sound fonts i got from the net.So much for pretty and nifty heh?The multi tracker features(4 to 32 wave channels in software!!)was nice and allows you to record live internet music into soundforge at the same time(driver sharing)This was a first on cunsumer based cards!!So all in all a 5 of 10 due to the midi playback instability

with the sblive and the kx driver, i´ve got a latency of 2.66 ms, so i´m happy that i´ve heard of the cheap way to get an asio soundcard. but there´s now another problem. I cannot hear cd´s from my cd-rom directly, only when it´s copied. What´s to do?

Can´t complain, I bought my in 98 and it works as it should, the line in is a bit crappy but still works, and it was cheap. Nowdays I would have bought something more funny.
