Fruity Loops version 3.0 is off the hook to say the least. Not to take anything away from any other midi applications out there. Stay with fruityloops for about 12 months and then come back and tell me what you think. Fruityloops projects can be base heavy but that is because it is a sequencer/synthesizer/drum machine/keyboard/etc... You can take the songs that are created in fruityloops and edit them in another program such as CoolEditPro which I highly recommend if you perfer ease of use without giving up quality and cooleditpro has so many effects it is pitiful. Very nice combination between the two programs as they compliment each other well. Also if you are into midi instruments then make beats and baselines in fruityloops and play your midi instrument and record into cooledit at the same time. You should be dreaming about your next session

Well, I love fruity loops! It amazes me how many people make midi sounding (thin) compositions when there is so much on offer with Fruity Loops. I have made extremely complex mixes with maybe 50 instruments creating a very professional and meaty sound. So explore the program fully it is well worth while!

I know I'm probably not using FL to its full capacity just cause I can't figure out how but I find it most useful for constructing loops and phrases that I can render to wav and then import to acid for my final production. When in FL the sound always comes out bass heavy and I can't save phrases and chop them up as easily as I'd like.

...but of course it's the best music program of all times on the pc!! i ve stopped using boring trackers cause this program (except its quality) has a lot of ways to compose music . The only thing that needs progress is the ts 404. It doesnt have volume and panning control within its menu like samples. this should be ok in the next version.
