DIN A ONE asked about free sample sites... here you go

acidplanet.com - has really good free remix material (madonna, garbage, new order, etc) and packs updated weekly

peaceloveproductions.com - subscribe to the news letter, high-quality original loops updated monthly

www.groundloops.com - same here, mostly beats/percussion

clix.to/loopfish - bootleg a capellas, and a great bookmark section on where to get more samples

www.samplefusion.com - same company who makes fl, lots of great stuff designed just for fruityloops

and you asked about how to get samples from a cd to fruity - the easiest way is to rip the cd to .wav with audiocatalyst or similar and edit them in cool edit, sound forge, etc. or use the line in on your sound card and record with your wave editor (cool edit, etc) i recommend ripping because you retain the digital qaulity. using the line in jack, with cable or amp or whatever may introduce noise.

I love this program. I started using it before i got any hardware (now i mostly use my roland) but since i still don't have a sampler, fruityloops is still a huge part of my setup. I use it alongside cool edit pro to mess with my sounds and then sequence em in fruityloops. I need to get a midi thing for my SB live so i can sync it to my sequencer for live stuff, but right now i just use it as a studio tool.

To get the most outta FL you must have FL3 Full, It'll make everybody to stop bitchin about it and get down to business. Whole studio quality project could be done just using this software, ready to be recorded on CD. Really awesome, FIVE STARS *****. I love it

I think the program realy is something good. Not if you use it as a tracker (only samples). But when u use the plugins that are included (ts404, simsynth, wasp, efeects and bloodoverdrive etc.) it is an okey tool!

joe: "Any beat making software OR hardware is really only as limited as the sounds are"

FL isn't limited to the sound samples you already have cuz it has some (virtual) synths that let you create your own sounds...

All in all a good program for beginners and a nice toy for the pro's
