Albert writes:
The Korg AM8000R is an effects processor that does ambient effects like reverb, chorus, flange, phase shifting, filtering, doppler effects, pitch shift, rotary simulations, delays, resonance filter, ring modulation, wah effects, modulation, compression, gating, saturation, and eq. It's almost like a mini-eventide in the way it can do some wild effects.

Good Points
The good points are that this box sounds great! Very musical. It will do some weird stuff (good weird), really mangle the sound, but also can do some nice reverb and pretty delay effects. It sounds especially good on synths, probably better at that than trying to emulate super-realistic spaces. The sound is crystal clear and the output is hot, so no worries about getting enough level. All the reviewers complained about the operating system on this box, and I really don't think it is nearly as tough to work with as they say. All it takes is a few minutes to figure out where things are, and then off you go.
Bad Points
I've found the front panel knobs to be just a little touchy on this particular unit. You can dial in a number or a parameter and when you let go of the knob it will jump to the next or previous item on the menu. Not all the time, just every once in a while, but it does cause you to pay more attention. It has a lump in the line power supply, where I would prefer an internal, and it also is unbalanced, where I would prefer balanced. Other than that, this is a great little effects box. Very underrated and deserving to be known better.
