Twin channel de-esser. Only two knobs and two switches per channel. Can be used in split band mode or full bandwidth mode. In split band mode a frequency knob sets the 'split' frequency above which gain reduction occurs, the range is from 800Hz to 8kHz. In both modes you can engage the 'air' switch which preserves the integrity of frequencies above 12kHz. The amount of de-essing is set by the second rotary knob. Channels are linked by a stereo link switch but the controls for each channel have to be set separately.

Good Points
This de-esser is very simple to set up, in split band mode it's easy to track down the sibilant frequencies for a particular voice by rotating the knobs and listening, and there's a 9 segment LED ladder to show the amount of gain reduction. Nothing too complicated and it works really well, the de-essing sounds very natural. Great for getting rid of sibilance on voices and also useful for taming strident top end stuff in drum loops.
