As with all sequencer software, it takes getting used to and once you do it's easy to become evangellical about your choice. I came from Cubase on the Atari and found the transition a little difficult. I have to say the flexibillity of this software is it's strength but also what makes it complex. You can customise the layout of the windows to the point of insanity - to get the most from it I would recommend either two monitors or a large(19") monitor. I've been using it for about three years and am still learning new ways to use it. It does tend to be the choice of a number of professionals mostly for it's ProTools support which was early and first on the block I guess. Bottom line is -if you need a fully featured professional totally configurable sequencer then this could be it. If you prefer a simpler more straightforward system without a large number of features that can get in the way - maybe this ain't for you

 Emagic Logic Audio Platinum Specifications:

Digital IOs:

Max tracks: lots of midi tracks
FX:
Number of FX rather depends on the CPU power you have - unless you are using TDM in which case it;s the DSP farm power you'll need for real time FX
