Making Waves is a wave/midi sequencer that uses waves from any directory on your computer. It renders composite wave files of your creations that you can use again in the same program, or in another program. Several usefull on-board effects are available, but no Direct-X as of yet. It has some verrry cool features like the level detect option which will find the loudest point in your mix and set the master volume accordingly (to prvent digital distortion), it will transmit midi clock (ACID won't even work that well with MIDI on my computer), it'll import and export standard MIDI files, it has support for multiple sound cards, etc.

Good Points This program seems to render composite waves flawlessly, transposing waves without artifacts even. It has become my main tool for the moment. Bad Points No undo (coming with next version), standard MIDI files dont translate perfectly, and the program stops if you do too many operations while it is playing (at least it doesnt crash the program or worse--the computer!). |
