OK, it's probably still not "pro-level", but it does the job, & it does it well. It's the same basic card as the EMU APS, without the nifty "e-drive" interface. You need to get the latest drivers from the SB Live web page to get the frequency shifter effect & the ability for 512 software voices- plus real-time effect auditioning & some other stuff.

Good Points
Decent effects, uses your computer's RAM to store up to 32 meg of samples (note that it only uses the RAM when it needs it- it doesn't just load it & keep it there), supports 3d audio, good sound quality
Bad Points
You can't use both the mic & line inputs at the same time, rather poor documentation, you can only apply 2 effects at once to MIDI (you can use all 4 on any input source & wave out)
