How To Hit Those High Notes

You know the session - that singer is 'tired and emotional', it's been a long day but you need just a couple more takes on that last chorus...AND HER VOICE GOES! She can't quite hit those high notes. Whaddya do?
FEAR NOT! Help is at hand. What you do is slow the tape down till it's comfortably in her range, record the vocal and speed it back up. Hey presto! Instant diva style vocals. Don't slow the tape down by more than the equivalent of a Tone though, or when you speed it back up it'll sound like The Smurfs. Or even worse, Babylon Zoo.
