PLEASE MAIL US SOME TWEAKS!!!!
Five for One
Try a couple of interesting "tweaks"....After MIDI-ing up all of your synths, it still sounds like a bad Klaus Schulze episode, try recording an audio track of a silent room. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the sense of depth and air even seemingly "quiet" rooms lend to otherwise static electronic instruments.
Try some of your own pre-emphasis/de-emphasis schemes. Boost 1k by a significant amount at the sends (say reverb or flange) and cut same amount at returns. Try 12k to turn your shitty lil' quadraverb (or equivalent) into a pseudo Lexicon 400.....
Distort EVERYTHING! Snare's sound grrr-eat heavily compressed into a Big Muff Pi that's in the middle of it's range (gotta watch out fer noize tho).
If you carefully send a reverb into itself, you can get instant atmosphere loops. It's very touchy, so watch your meters carefully.
It's alot easier balancing big-sounding signals w/ little ones, so go ahead....run that S1000 or Synclavier through a nice Boss pedal. It seems almost every pedal out there adds some really nice/gritchy harmonics.
Now go and turn your PC into a fish-bowl and start making some music!
