Electrix announces new loop-based, digital recorder

US It's a Repeater. It's a Repeater.      14/08/00

Electrix showed off its latest studio wizardry at the Summer NAMM with the. Repeater, which gives you MIDI sequencer-style control over audio loops by offering independent, real-time, manipulation over tempo, key and track offset. Set to ship in November, Repeater will have an SRP of $749. 'Quickly establish the groove of your song by instantly grabbing perfect drum loops,' says Electrix. 'Overdub unlimited guitar lines. Add keyboards or vocals and change the tempo or key without losing audio quality.' Repeater uses CompactFlash media for easy memory expansion (up to 50 minutes of record time) as well as Mac/PC compatibility. And it syncs up to MIDI Clock, of course. Darrell Smith, director of product planning, who, of course, was 'excited' by the product - all these industry guys are, you know - says, 'Electrix designed Repeater with the project studio in mind. Whatever the instrument, be it guitar, drums, keyboards or vinyl, Repeater will make sampling and loop based recording powerfully intuitive.' Repeater will be the sixth product from Electrix in just over a year. These chaps are certainly on the case... www.electrixpro.com
