Yamaha's mLAN technology, based on the powerful industry standard IEEE 1394 high-speed serial bus protocol, has the ability to easily route digital audio and control data from one device to another, enabling the simple configuration of sophisticated systems for creating and mastering music. Yamaha's mLAN Licensing Program is now available to all developers of digital audio hardware and software. This should see the standard being adopted by more maker of the gear we want. Yamaha are already releasing mLAN equipped cards for retro fitting to some of their digital range, most notably the AW4416.
