For those of you who have read the reviews of the EXS24, trembled in anticipation of actually playing with it, then realized you had to have a Mac running Logic Audio to do the do; tremble no longer - it's now available as a VST 2.0 application. The new EXSP24 sample player plays samples ranging from 8 to 24 bit depth; any sample rate from 11 to 96kHz, in any combination. Besides reading the EXS24 formats, it'll include import support for WAV, AIFF, SD11 and SoundFont2 across platforms.
But to edit samples and instruments, you'll need Logic Audio and EXS24. Still - you don't need those to enjoy the 'first virtual electric piano for VST'.
The EVP73 (the 'EVP' stands for Emagic Vintage Piano) is a 73 note (er..that'll be the '73') polyphonic version of the EVP88 released earlier this year. It uses the same core engine, sound and funky retro styling.
So now you can have a virtual Fender Rhodes Stage Piano Mk2 as a VST 2.0 plug-in. Cool, huh. http://www.emagic.de
