The PC version of Emu's Emulator Soft will be released first, followed later by the Mac version. Well, that's different than the good old Mac days now isn't it? Now us Mac people have to wait for the good stuff, bummer. The Emu rep I spoke to estimated the PC version out by "the summer". Anyway, I didn't spend a lot of time at the Emu booth, but the basic features are: The Emulator Soft will be a fully functional Emu Sampler. The user will be able to catalog and edit E4 samples on their PC. The user will be able to browse all E4 drives and flash memory from the PC. (This is a good feature for us with hardware E4's) The Emulator soft will be able to run in stand-alone mode or as a VST instrument. While the release is still a way away, this looks like a soft sampler to keep an eye on, especially anyone who already owns an E5000, E6400, E4xt, or any hardware E4 sampler. The sample library will transfer over, and the soft sampler will add capabilities inthe way of cataloging and editing sounds on the computer. Albert EMU products at audioMIDI
