The new 2.51 update installer is available for download from TC Works’ website, TC say that: Spark and Spark XL 2.51 show an overall improved performance, adding new features to the stack of features already included in Version 2.5. The update provides users with even more usability and flexibility: The recording dialog automatically begins a new take if the file format doesn’t support larger files. Moreover, Spark XLnow supports Sample Rates of up to 192 kHz on Mac OS Classic when used with Direct I/O and ProTools HD Systems. It also allows for recording beyond the usual limit of 1 hour in 24/96, using the SDII file format. Spark 2.5’s cursor behavior ensures that the process of locating edit points and creating regions is faster and more precise than ever. Improved file handling allows direct access to MP3 and QuickTime files. The visual scrub tool enables tape-style acoustic navigation through a file, and the waveform overview and zoom handling have been further streamlined for speed and efficiency. Large projects open up to 10 times faster in Spark 2.5, thanks to a greatly enhanced file handling. The Master View includes instantly definable effect matrix resizing and a MONO Audition function for monitoring. Full Multi-Processing support allows users of Dual-CPU Macs to utilize the power of their computers without limitations. The Mac OS X version of Spark 2.5 supports Apple’s Core Audio for extremely low latencies and Apple’s Core MIDI, so the modular synthesizer is playable directly from any connected MIDI device.
