Future Music pile them on 22/08/02"AmpliTube's user interface is extremely well laid out and easy to use, and the sound of AmpliTube is fantastic covering just about any amp and effects sound that you'd want, with the presets leading the way in providing a whole range of stuff, ... Anyone with a powerful computer system need look no further for an amp simulation and effects program.
AmpliTube is a wonderful sonic resource.Choosing a best buy from this lot (Behringer V-Amp, Boss GT-6, Korg Pandora PX4, Lexicon MPXG2, Line 6 Guitarport, Line 6 Pod Pro, Steinberg Warp, TC Electronics G-Major, Tech 21 SansAmp, Yamaha DG Stomp) is a difficult task... but we wouldnt' be FM if we didnt' put our privates on chopping block and select one for our Best Buy award, so here goes,... it's IK's AmpliTube. It's aimed at computer based users, but its great sounding and fantastic interface make it an extremely creative tool.

"So are the (amp) models any good? Actually, they're outstanding. AmpliTube's standout feature is the amp and cabinet modeling....it does the guitar thing very well . . . but there are a lot more applications under the hood It's a plug-in whose applications go beyond electric guitars. If there's one lesson I learned from this review, it's to never sign off on a synth bass line before checking it out with AmpliTube. Yow! AmpliTube is not only easy to learn, but easy to use. There's no contest as to which side is the winner...this is a hot plug-in.
Cool sounds. Fat, authentic-sounding models. Automatable parameters. Available in multiple formats. Super-easy interface. Useful mic-position modeling. Studio effects are a nice touch. Good selection of presets, including ones for bass. Match mode presents optimized combinations for newbies. Studio and stompbox effects are useful for more than just guitar."
Not bad eh? We've seen and heard Amplitude in action and would tend to agree - it really is an outstanding piece of software.
