Elktron are calling an end to the Sidstation era due to the difficulties in sourcing the chips (originally used as sound sources in the Commodore 64) that they use in the Sidstation. The Sidstation is a bit of a cult classic with a distinctive sound due to the 8-bit sound chip used. Elektron plan to celebrate the fact by issuing the last 100 in a numbered series counting down from 100 to 1 - guess that one might be somewhat collectable! The limited edition Sidstation is only available online though Elektron's direct sales at USD$760 and EUR 900 (incl tax)
