Akai - New MPC Poised To Pounce
We sneaked this picture - don't tell anyone...

Buying Choices
A little bird told me yesterday that there was a new MPC from Akai with a link to the page on the www.akaipro.com website. From what I could glean before the page was withdrawn, it's a compact MPC style unit with the colouring of the Z-series sampler, 16 pads and multi outputs. As you can imagine, details are rather sketchy at present and the said page has now been replaced with a tantalizing 404 not found style page - telling us to return around September 16th - so I guess that's the big day. According Akai, the link sent was an unauthorized slip from an un-named internal source. However, as a bit of guerilla marketing it should get the good 'ol internet rumour-mill working overtime. Of course we're happy to play our part :-) It's good to hear as Akai have been a little quiet the last few months while they restructure and sort out new distribution. Don't worry, we'll keep you posted
