OS6.5 for the Virus C, KC, Indigo2 and rack XL is the big update in Access's software update plan. It underlines the Virus’ OS reputation as one of the most sought after synthesizer operating system in the industry. If you don't know the Virus sound, it's one that’s a staple in many current hit records from Dance to Hip-Hop to Rock. Well it ain’t broke and they're not fixing it, but they are introducing a whole new Virus sound courtesy of their brand new filter. Modeled from the legendary Mini Moog, this self-resonating filter delivers a Virus sound that is gritty and screaming yet rich and warm, but above all is 100% fresh. It’s like downloading a whole new synth into your Virus. And it doesn’t stop here. In difference to the Mini Moog you decide on how many filter poles suit your needs. The Access Ladder Filter includes 1 pole [6dB], 2 pole [12dB], 3 pole [18dB] and 4 pole [24dB] variations. OS 6.5 also comes with additional, Analog Filter optimised sounds by Ben Crosland, Howard Scarr and Matt Skaggs. All mp3 examples below were created using the new patches.
