How's this for international cooperation? A guitar designed by a British guitarist and a Japanese cultural figure, built by an American company and given an Italian name.
The Martin Belleza Nera guitar was conceived to blend the best in design and sound and can be seen on the cover of Clapton's latest album 'Me & Mr. Johnson'. Named after the Italian for beautiful and black, this limited edition 14-fret 000 features a polished black gloss finished body, head and neckplate and matching African black ebony fingerboard and bridge.
Intricate inlays abound including snowflakes on the fretboard, Martin's 'Alternative Torch' inlay on the headplate and Belleza Nera inlaid in script above the last fret in Mother of Pearl.
Tuners are silver plated Scallers while the top is made of Italian alpine spruce with back and sides of East Indian Rosewood.
