AKG Acoustics were displaying their new WMS 40 PRO wireless systems at the show. The new system builds on the successful WMS 40 system, but, say AKG, provides even more flexibility and economy for the user. AKG tell us that they have listened to their customers and have engineered an even better wireless solution featuring AKG’s legendary sound with perfect audio transmission.
Delivering up to 30 hours of battery life off of a single AA battery, WMS 40 PRO systems provide clear wireless audio transmission and maximum economy of operation. AKG say that the WMS 40 PRO Series systems deliver best-in-class frequency response and dynamic range, which allows the products to deliver a quality of sound comparable to their wired microphone counterparts. All WMS 40 PRO wireless receivers feature the same high-quality all-metal chassis included with AKG’s more expensive WMS 400 series.
AKG’s WMS 40 PRO systems are available in three configurations:
  • WMS 40 PRO FLEXX systems have three selectable frequencies to side-step interference, delivering up to nine inter-modulation free channels
  • WMS 40 PRO Single systems are available in seven fixed frequencies
  • WMS 40 PRO Dual systems include two transmitters and two independent channels in a single half-rack sized receiver.
All WMS 40 PRO packages include a choice of handheld and body pack transmitters. The configuration sub-sets feature reliable AKG components including the GB 40 guitarbug, C 444 L head-worn microphones, HT 40 Pro handheld mics and CK 55 L lavalier mics. All WMS 40 PRO transmitters also include charging contacts for use with the AKG CU 400 dual-bay charging station for even greater convenience and economy of operation.
