The Muse Research Receptor really appears to be one of the only ways to run plug-ins live, if you are to believe the hype. But really, if you check the roster of artists using this dedicated hardware plug-in host on the Muse Research website then you'll probably be impressed (at least I was).

The good news is that you can now buy the Receptor Pro - a cutting edge processor with a masssive hard drive and 2GB of RAM, plus all the trimmings. Upgrades are available for existing Receptor owners and from what we saw of the demo, we think there will be more than a few takers.

Also announced is the availability of UNI-Wire technology, that allows you to access Receptors over an ethernet conection to add it's DSP power to either Mac or PC host DAWs. The big news is that this is now available for RTAS users of ProTools as well as VST and AU for the rest of us - looks very promising this.

Once again, details to follow, but watch the accompanying video to see the unit in action.
