SPL continues to provide flexible and cost effective monitoring solutions to the DAW market with the introduction of the Volume2 and Volume8 monitor controllers.
The Volume2 and Volume8, true to their stated function, are dedicated solely to level control. The Volume2 model is intended for stereo applications, while the Volume8 can control up to 8 channels. Both devices are designed with active switching to circumvent disadvantages of passive circuitries such as impedance variation and degraded linearity in frequency response.

Many DA converters and sound cards force the user to control analog volume levels in the digital domain. In order to have reasonable monitoring levels, users would have to reduce the converters output which also reduces the number of bits being used and therefore compromises the audio quality by not utilizing the converter’s full bit resolution.
SPL say that the Volume2 and Volume8 solve this problem by incorporating superior design and delivering unsurpassed monitoring quality.
The Volume2 and Volume8 are part of the growing line of SPL monitoring products that also include the MTC 2381 and SMC 2489 full-featured Stereo and Surround Monitoring Controllers.
