TC Unwraps UnWrap HD


TC Electronic have announced the immediate availability of UnWrap HD. The free software upgrade offers existing System 6000 UnWrap users new possibilities when it comes to extracting dialog or enveloping sources from a stereo or LtRt mix, enabling better discrimination between foreground and background elements of a track. The new software version is backwards compatible with original UnWrap presets.

UnWrap HD is a 48-bit precision algorithm capable of running at any sample rate between 32 and 96 kHz. Applications typically include film production, mastering and broadcast production for HDTV.

Since its introduction in 2001, TC say that UnWrap has become the world's de facto standard up-conversion stereo and LtRt to 5.1 processor for dialog, music and sound effects. They tell us that, contrary to one-size-fits-all solutions, UnWrap is a professional production tool, which provides a vast number of options and tweaking possibilities to the engineer in order to bring out the intentions behind an original stereo mix.
