Orwell Digital have released Activator which they say is a pro-level patch collection for Logic Pro.
Orwell tell us that Activator is not just another widely-ported sample pack, but a collection of sounds programmed to take full advantage of the best-in-class software synthesizers and effects provided by Logic Pro. A generous helping of deep-sounding, analog-style bass patches are included among the 64 Channel Presets (patches saved with effects for instant recall) contained in the collection.
To effectively capture the sonic power needed for bass applications in contemporary styles, say Orwell, some of the best real-analog synths in the world were called on to provide waveforms and spectra. These included both antique sonic 'beasts' in addition to top-of-the-line current studio units.
Orwell say that to complement the raw analog tonality provided by these sources, completely new wave data, generated using today's state-of-the-art synthesis techniques, also played a key role in creating the unique sound delivered by this collection. Additive synthesis, physical modeling, re-synthesis and sample manipulation were all called on for their distinctive sonic qualities.
