Logic Pro’s major new feature, as widely predicted, is a redesigned, single-window interface and we’ve also lost the XS key (yippee!).

  Production-ready templates, a streamlined track setup window, and dynamic channel strip creation get you up and running fast. Improved ReWire support provides easy integration with other music applications.
  

• Effortless multitake recording
  Region-based take management speeds up multitake recording, editing, and processing. An expandable take folder makes it simple to recall overdubs, and entire take folders can be moved and edited like regions.
  

• Quick Swipe comping
  With breakthrough Quick Swipe comping, you can simply swipe over the best portions of each take to create a seamless comp, complete with transition-smoothing crossfades.
  

• New audio editing tools
  Work faster and with greater precision using powerful new features like snap-to-transient selection, graphical time stretching, and sample-accurate editing in the Arrange window.

  Logic Studio 8 looks great. I'm wondering of their stepping on the private developers too much with all of the included stuff. Added to all the bundled instruments that Logic already had are five jampacks. Since they also threw in Soundtrack and Mainstage, you've got enough stuff to keep you busy for a couple years.

  I would have ordinarily been a customer for Logic Express, but between the Jam Packs, EVB3, EVD6, EVP88, Soundtrack and Mainstage, there appears to be enough to justify buying the big boy. That means the Arturia CS80M that I was considering will have to wait for a good long time.
