BFD has a pretty good reputation as a drum sample system. Not only are the samples pretty amazing, but the fllexiability of sound manipulation, based on the recording studio paradigm – mixing mics, both close and room etc make it sonically almost indistinguishable from the real thing. BFD2 takes it to another level, with a whole new bunch of samples (55GB recorded at AIR), plus the ability to internally process (within BFD itself) individual mics and or drums with a selection of new effects. Best take a look for yourself I reckon. Priced at $399/£199 upgrade at $199 More From: FXPANSION

It's called a Zen Drum(or Zendrum). The guy even says it right at the beginning. It's been around for a long time.
