Dual Mode Capability For Jazzmutant Controllers

Jazzmutant believe that their hands-on, multi-touch controllers have revolutionized the way we interface with our computers, putting stylish, futuristic and – most importantly – ultimate functional control into creative environments everywhere.
But which controller would be right for you? The Lemur can be set up exactly to suit your needs, allowing for intuitive multi-touch control of instrument and effect parameters, mixer channels or anything else you need critical hands-on control of, while Dexter is hard-wired as the ultimate controller for your DAW.
Now you don’t have to choose between them – Jazzmutant is now shipping Dexter with Lemur software included so you can have both, and all for the price of a single Dexter unit. And for existing users Jazzmutant has developed a firmware update that, once downloaded from their website, allows you to select Lemur or Dexter functionality when booting up your controller, effectively doubling the potential for your Jazzmutant hardware.
The firmware update is available now for download from the Jazzmutant website, enabling you to run both Lemur and Dexter on one machine.
About Lemur:
The Lemur is a top-of-the-range control surface for audio and media applications. Its major innovation is in its modular graphic interface concept and the exclusive multitouch sensor technology. The continuously growing palette of user-configurable graphic objects enables you to design made-to-measure interfaces by using the bundled JazzEditor. This endows the Lemur with the unique and protocol independent capacity to adapt its behavior according to the application you are controlling, whether it’s sequencers, modular synthesizers, virtual instruments, VJ software, 3D animation tools or light control.
About Dexter: DEXTER redefines interaction between Digital Audio Workstations and users. This laptop-sized multi-touch control surface has been designed with only one purpose in mind: making control of your DAW more pleasant, playful and efficient. Dexter puts the power of your DAW at your fingertips, in a creative and user-friendly manner. In a word, Dexter amounts to what DAW users have been awaiting for years – a Controller. At last.
Pricing and Availability:
The upgrade will be free to all Dexter users.
Lemur users will be able to upgrade to dual-boot for 390 euros.

I think it's actually a hardware upgrade, not just a bit of software for download. The Lemur has to be returned to base and fitted with a new ROM.

The Dexter functions really do rock though.
