ModernBeats has announced the 4 winners and 6 runner- ups of its third Hip Hop Beat Contest. In addition to receiving a total of $2,000 in cash prizes, the Top 10 winning music producers had their contest music forwarded to both MTV Networks and UK's Active Music to be featured on worldwide shows, films, and commericals for MTV, BBC, Virgin Media, and more.
The grand prize ($1,000 USD) goes to music producer Enton Mushi of Windsor, Ontario. Second place ($500 USD) goes to urban producer Stuart MacQuarrie out of Calgary, Alberta. Third place ($300 USD) goes to hip hop producer Lez 'Da Beast' Lemon from Belleville, NJ. Fourth place ($200 USD) goes to Jerren Spruill of Raleigh, NC.
All music producers competing in the Hip Hop Beat Contest used at least one ModernBeats sound or loop library in their contest beat productions. Odds of winning were based on the best sounding, most original, most professionally produced hip hop beat out of all contest beats received. Contest song genres accepted included Hip Hop, Urban, Bounce, Crunk, Dirty South, R&B, Pop, and Dance with a hip hop edge.
Beat Contest#4 starts on the 15th of January 2008 and is open to music producers worldwide.
