SONIC TALK 071 - back after our Christmas break, refreshed and ready to tackle anything - even the NAMM show which is next week (Starts 17th january 2008 for 4 days).Joining me this week are Noneric fresh from a MusoTalk.de relaunch and redesign, Dave Spiers - from GFORCE Software - getting ready to announce something at the show (stay tuned to sonicstate.com for news), PJ Tracy our Minneapolean composer and studio owner, Mark Tinley - long time Duran Duran tour tech and studio guy who's enjoying his new power-tool and last but no means least Rich Hilton - Nile Rodgers main studio dude and member of legendary disco outfit Chic.

This week is a bumper, coming it at just over an hour, and to kick off the new year, we talk of Christmas past (Noneric got an SP1200!), the pending NAMM future - including Linn Drum II, John Bowen's Solaris, the new Sharc based DSP synth Plugiator, new control surfaces from Euphonix, 8-core Mac Pros just announced too.

Mark - you were talking about how rubbish using a Korg controller with Logic is - if you are talking about the Kontrol or microKontrol, you are right - native Logic support is poor, and using it manually is poor.

The solution that I'm 100% happy with is LC Xmu from OpusLocus - it turns the mK into a Mackie Control, it's been brilliantly designed, and it's like using all the best features of native mode, but *intelligently* dveloped, rather than just slapped in there.

Check it out before you skip the Korg - it's made a *world* of difference for me...

FYI Nick,

it`s the Noro Virus causing an enteritis. Used to be called Norwalk Virus then Norwalk Like...so now we (md`s) use the name Noro just for confusion - just like MDs are known for ;-) Right now - winter time - it`s popular over here in germany,too !
