The new STSoft STSideComp is a straightforward, full parameterized compressor with a dedicated sidechain input stereo channel. It is designed as a VST effect for MacOSX and is specially created for and tested with Ableton Live.
The plug-in designer tells us that you can use the plug-in especially in modern music styles like House or Techno in order to gain the typical ducking effect, best known from French House.
Support for MacOSX 10.5 (Leopard), a graphical user interface, an AU (Audio Unit) version and a Microsoft Windows version are said to be coming soon.
