After the VSM, GForce Software are introducing the MTron Pro at the show. This new virtual instrument looks like a Mellotron 400 but includes sounds from the Birotron and Optigan as well as a loop reverse option.

Regular Sonic State podcaster and GForce boss Dave Spiers talks us through it and demonstrates some of the sounds.

Cool sounds! I don't consider myself a mellotron fan - but this sounds very interesting! Also looking forward to the VSM pack, especially that Yamaha sound - could it be a CS80 based sound?

Actually, that was an ARP 2500 in Close Encounters, the GS-1 and later the DX-1 are the fathers of the DX FM synths, and if you want to see the GX-1 in action, search youtube for ELP's Fanfare for the Common Man. Monster machine, that is.

    Sounds very nice.....

I didn't quite pick up what Dave said - is its some GX-1 sounds for the VSM or a new product in the pipeline... If they do a complete GX-1 Virtual Synth I'll be first in the queue !!
