ArKaos is releasing GrandVJ, which they say sets a new reference for VJ software. GrandVJ is an entirely rebuilt and redesigned replacement of the legendary software ArKaos VJ. It is designed to be as easy to use as its predecessor, but adds the flexibility and performance that is required by today’s leading videojockeys and DJs.

ArKaos GrandVJ is a live video performance tool that allows visual artists to trigger, mix and manipulate videoclips, animations or live cameras in order to run amazing video shows at clubs or other events. GrandVJ is an extremely potent application addressing the needs of novice and demanding VJs, as well as other people looking for a real-time video mixing and authoring tool.
GrandVJ keeps the same piano keyboard layout that is the trademark of ArKaos VJ software, but it also introduces a new mixer mode that resembles an eight layer video mixer. The new mode makes sequential mixing between layers much easier. It makes GrandVJ suitable for even more VJ styles and even normal video mixing. Both modes have been designed with a focus on ease-of-use, giving real-time access to all mixing parameters, even without a mouse.
GrandVJ is very easy to customize to each user’s preferred setup. The interface can quickly be modified to fit individual needs and preferences. Mapping MIDI controllers can be done in the new MIDI learn mode or by importing presets for specific MIDI controllers.
On the mixing side, GrandVJ comes with an updated ArKaos effects library and a long list of automated video generators. GrandVJ offers an extensive support for various media including most video and image formats; flash text and animations; and multiple camera inputs.
Behind the scenes, GrandVJ speeds up with a state-of-the-art multi-threaded hardware-accelerated graphical engine that supports multiple screens and very high-resolution video. Like all other ArKaos products, GrandVJ runs on both PC and Mac.
