Another report brought to you by our AES collaboration with Pro Sound News Europe, Dave Robinson puts some insightful quesions to Stephan Flock ,CEO of RME about the MADI system and why it is so important to the industry. Traditionally MADI has been only for large format consoles both live and installation for moving multiple channels of digital audio. Their new MADIFACE consists of two parts, the ExpressCard and the breakout box and brings this technology to the laptop with 64 channels input and 64 channels output, up to 192 kHz sample rate, with MADI embedded MIDI transmission.
RME are aiming to increase the use of MADI so that it ultimately becomes as ubiquitous as the ADAT port.
