Euphonix Artist Series MC Mix was awarded the prestigious Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award in the Small Format Console Technology category at the 24th Annual TEC Award ceremonies, held Friday, October 3, in San Francisco.
“We're truly grateful to have won the TEC Award for the MC Mix. The Artist Series represents a new direction in audio solutions for Euphonix, said Martin Kloiber, Euphonix CEO. “Receiving this recognition from MIX Magazine voters as well as audio industry professionals for a Small Format Console proves the acceptance of Euphonix into the personal studio market. It also shows the acceptance of EuCon, allowing individual end users the opportunity to work on the best-of-class products in a truly integrated and networked environment.
The winning Euphonix MC Mix Controller faced worthy competition in this year’s Small Format Console category. The Allen & Heath MixWizard 12M, Dan Dugan Sound Design Model E-1, Digidesign C|24, Mackie Control Universal Pro Series, and the Soundcraft GB2R were also nominated.
The new MC Mix, one of two control surfaces for Euphonix’ new Artist Series line of products, boasts a revolutionary ergonomic, slim-line design and brings the unparalleled speed, resolution and DAW integration of Euphonix’ high-end professional consoles to the personal studio. The MC Mix easily integrates into any studio, fitting perfectly between a computer keyboard and screen, and can be connected to additional Euphonix MC Mix and/or MC Control units to create a larger, integrated control surface.
Earlier this year the Artist Series products were awarded the Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA) for Best Recording Hardware, the red dot design award and were nominated for The German Design Council Award (Rat fur Formgebung). Additionally, in the Large Format Console Technology category, the Euphonix S5 Fusion received a 2008 TEC Award nomination. Founded in 1985, the Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards is the foremost program recognizing the achievements of audio professionals. Presented annually by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio, the TEC Awards honor the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, films, TV shows and live performances.
