Apparently, there are some people who like to play synth sounds or sampled instruments in using a wind controller. Lucky that Akai have just announced the new EWI USB, which gets you blowing using a USB connector directly into your computer for some hot MIDI action. Comes with a Garritan bundle of sounds to get you started. Just dont suck, or you'll end up with a mouthful of hard drive or worse. Available now for $499 US

I got one last month. Be sure to get it from patchmanmusic.com because they tweak them out for their customers before shipping. I love what they did and mine plays great. Awesome device.
