Voxengo have announced the release of version 2 of their Polysquasher mastering compressor plug-in for Mac OS X and Windows.
Version 2 features the following improvements over version 1:
  • Compressor mode editor
  • Linear-phase oversampling
  • Multi-channel support
  • Multi-platform support
  • Undo/redo
  • Routing matrix
  • Preset manager
  • User interface coloration
  • User interface re-scaling
  • Channel grouping
  • Plug-in instance naming
  • Bypass switch
Here's what Voxengo have to say about Polysquasher:
Polysquasher was designed with a main goal: to be transparent. Polysquasher achieves its goal by using a unique compression algorithm which requires a small number of parameters – basically threshold and ratio only – making this compressor a joy to use. More advanced settings are hidden in the "compressor mode editor" panel where you can create your own compressor modes that can be easily recalled later.
Polysquasher is best used as a finishing compressor inserted in the chain before the final mastering limiter.
Polysquasher features:
  • Transparent compression sound
  • Real-time gain reduction graph
  • 8 built-in compressor modes
  • Compressor mode editor
  • Multi-channel processing
  • Internal channel routing
  • Channel grouping
  • Up to 8x linear-phase oversampling
  • 64-bit floating point processing
  • Preset manager
  • Undo/redo history
  • A/B comparisons
  • Contextual hint messages
Pricing and Availability:
One-month introductory price of USD 55.95 is now effective, which is 20% off the regular price. Upgrading from the previous version costs USD 34.95 if previous version was purchased earlier than 90 days from now: otherwise upgrade is free during this grace period. More information:
