The Alesis  DM10 Pro  had it's first UK outing at PLASA this year. The new kit features  authentic drum head style pads and real damped cymbals wth multiple zones and a choke sensor.

As well as the 1000 on-board sounds, 3rd party drum sound libraries are also to be made available and be loaded into the 128MB on board RAM. At present this is limited to specially formatted kits - eg: - you cant load your own sounds.

Why oh why do these manufacturers send people who obviously don't much about the product they're selling. It just makes me squirm. Send a tech, for the love of god.

To be fair, Jon is a top guy. Often these things just show up prior to a show from central office (and it's not an Alesis only thing) without much warning. When someone like me turns up, they must dread it.

Sometimes, having the new product at the show is an opportunity to see how people interract with it, rather than use it as a PR opportunity
