Optigan.com has announced Marimba - the first new Vako Orchestron sound disc since 1975.
The Vako Orchestron is rare optical sample-playback instrument from the 70's, and was the "professional" version of Mattel's Optigan.
The new disc is a recording of an acoustic marimba from the original Optigan/Orchestron master tapes. This particular sound never made it onto any Optigan or Orchestron disc until now.
Optigan.com is now taking pre-orders for the disk. The initial run will be limited to 25 copies, and they will require 15 pre-orders before going to press.
