WNAMM10: Sonic Reality Epik Drums

Interview with Ken Scott too      21/01/10

No flash plug

7:17 mins

Ken Scott is a veteran recording engineer coming from the old school - he learned his trade on the Abbey Road Beatles sessions, amongst others. His credits are too numerous too mention, but his new sample collection features classic drum sounds recreated from sessions with some of the World's top drummers.

Sonic Reality and Ken teamed up to recreate these sessions with the original drummers. It was an epic two year task - hence the name EpiK Drums.

The library comes (if you wish) on a dedicated hard drive, so you can take this library with you and not have to feed endless DVDs into your machine - its 130GB you know.

In this video we spoke with Dave Kerzner and also had the privilege to interview Ken Scott himself.

Available now at $749 US

Actually, we did sample a Fibes plexi kit for Cobham which had to be sent across the country from the Drum Doctor. However since the kit was so large (8 toms!) a few of the kit pieces had to be Ludwig Vistalite. So it wasn't all Fibes but mostly and as close as one could get!
