Tonehammer has released Ambius 1: "Transmissions". Here's what they have to say about it...
In this rst volume of our Ambius series, we focus on the dark, the cryptic, the unnatural and the subliminal, in the form of unearthly angelic bell tones and demonically corrupt signals ltering through the void.
This massive collection of ambiences, drones, pads and evolving "synth" leads were each created by hand. Every sound you hear was hand-crafted using only organic eld and instrument recordings. In fact, no synthesizers were used in the creation of this library at all. We used a variety of custom techniques to blend, warp, shape and layer the sounds, taking them from the realm of the known into that of the very unknown. The instruments you'll nd in this collection range from simple, clean, tonal leads to compound, constantly moving sound-scapes and textures.
Instruments are broken into 3 main categories (Tuned, Melodic and Horror), with 288 Kontakt programs, 352 looping wav samples and 2.5 GB of total ambient content, plus a selection of our custom stereo convolution reverb impulses. Each instrument includes special controls for multi-layer cross-fading, ltering, intensity, octave/semi-tone stepping and effect wetness control.
You'll find a faded archive of EVP recordings engineered by the dead, ear-witness accounts of unholy medical procedures, insidious swarms of enraged stinging insects, terror winds speaking with voices of pure and ancient decay and bio-mechanical devices worming through primordial pools of seething logic. We also included 7 beautiful tuned solo/lead instruments and a large collection of complex evolving melodic pads, ranging from darkly dissonant to brilliantly harmonious. You will marvel in the sweeping glory of infinite choirs and spin endlessly soaring melodies from our cluster bells. Ambius 1: "Transmissions" specs
