The International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA) and AKON's HITLAB have come together in an effort to provide musicians all over the world with the opportunity to participate in a unique and exciting song competition and a chance to win a major label contract. The competition is open to anyone who has original songs that have been recorded as high quality demos or master recordings. Contestants may upload as many songs as they wish. Uploaded songs are then analyzed and scored, based on 78 different variables, by HITLAB's proprietary Dynamic Hit Scoring (DHS) technology.

The IMSTA Song Competition ends May 31, 2010. The winner of the competition will perform in front of AKON and other music industry heavyweights at the upcoming HITLAB Showcase this summer and will have a chance to win a major label contract.

The International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA) is a nonprofit association which represents the interests of the music software industry. Its primary goal is to change end-user behavior in order to reduce the demand for pirated music software. IMSTA pursues this goal through education and not litigation.
